WE MAKE STUFF IN TECHNOLOGY CLASS!

{6TH GRADERS MAKING PLANES THAT REALLY FLY}

If it's green, it's biology, If it stinks, it's chemistry, If it has numbers it's math, If it doesn't work, it's technology

--Unknown

We've arranged a civilization in which most crucial elements profoundly depend on science and technology.  We have also arranged things so that almost no one understands science and technology.  This is a prescription for disaster.  We might get away with it for a while, but sooner or later this combustible mixture of ignorance and power is going to blow up in our faces.  ~Carl Sagan

Welcome to my  homepage.

If you need to contact me, please feel free to e-mail me sharrison@jsasd.k12.pa.us. You can also call me any time during the school day at (570) 398-7400. I answer all calls and e-mail, but I am spread out over several phones. If you don't hear back assume a technical problem and try again.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I am much less concerned about grading students than I am about broadening their horizons and inspiring them about possibilities. In the three years I work with students I will open as many doors—into electronics, aerospace, energy and information technology, etc.—as I can.

I enjoy my work. I hope I can be one of the people who piques students to start thinking, “What kind of work would I enjoy?Where do I want to devote my time and energy? What kind of work holds my interest? How can I use education to get where I want to go?”

You can read about specific projects for the 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Go to those pages from the menu on the left.
