Dear Community Members:
The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania (FCFP) has announced Raise the Region 2015, an event to help the communities of Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union counties support local nonprofit organizations’ fundraising efforts. FCFP, in partnership with Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships, will be launching a 30-hour online fundraising event starting on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
Mark your calendar! On Wednesday, March 11, at 6:00 PM through 11:59 PM on Thursday, March 12, you are encouraged to visit www.raisetheregion.org and select the participating nonprofit(s) of your choice to support, and your gift will be stretched by a generous contribution from Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships. Your donation(s) can also help raise additional support for the nonprofits selected by qualifying them for monetary prizes. All gifts are tax deductible and will help make your favorite nonprofit’s mission possible.
Nonprofit participation in Raise the Region is available to all 501c3 organizations in good standing with the IRS that primarily serve one of the following counties: Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, or Union counties. This year, the Jersey Shore Education Foundation, a 501c3 organization, is participating in the event.
Two Jersey Shore Area School District co-curricular organizations need financial assistance to support our students at the national FBLA and TSA competitions. The JSASD supports competitions for all organizations to the state level, but students who compete and demonstrate leadership skills at the national level must conduct multiple fundraising activities to support their attendance. Raise the Region 2015 is an excellent opportunity to support our students in this way and get the additional financial support from the FCCP and Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships. Your donation to the Foundation may be matched 100%, and is tax deductble.
If you choose to make a donations to FBLA or TSA, please notify the advisors. The only way the funds will be earmarked for the organizations is through communication with Dolly Oden (FBLA) email@example.com or Andrew Baker (TSA) firstname.lastname@example.org . If you choose to make an unrestricted donation to the JS Education Foundation, you may do so as well and no notification is necessary. The Foundation will use the unrestricted dollars to support a multitude of Jersey Shore Area School District initiatives and scholarships.
This is a wonderful opportunity to support the Jersey Shore Education Foundation and our students. There will be a Raise the Region link on the JSASD webpage and Facebook page the day of the event. The link will take you directly to the site where you may make your credit card donation to the Jersey Shore Education Foundation.
I thank you in advance for your generous contributions.
BestDorothy L. Chappel, Ph.D.
